Indigenous Program
WAM’s Indigenous program is a West Australian initiative for all indigenous musicians, located in metropolitan, regional and remote areas. The program’s focus is unearthing new talent, creating opportunities and exiting pathways for Indigenous artists wishing to pursue careers as professional musicians on local, national and international scales.

Through practical music industry workshops, and advice on obtaining the various forms of assistance available, WAM helps feed vital information to indigenous musicians. By providing a highly specialised, dedicated Indigenous Officer travelling to meet artists in the field, WAM is also working on a practical level to increase the number of indigenous artists performing, recording and touring.

Australia Council

This project has been assisted by the Australian Government through the Australia Council for the Arts, its arts funding and advisory body.
