WAM Song of the Year: Early Bird Entries

This year for the first time, WAM is offering the opportunity for songwriters to enter a song, receive some feedback from our independent judges, and then resubmit the song if they think that the feedback has resulted in a better piece of work.

In a nutshell, any entries that we receive by May 31 (who have requested an evaluation) will be given feedback that will be returned to the entrant by June 30, along with a special “re-entry form”.  These entries can be resubmitted at no additional cost by the usual closing date, and will replace the entry that was originally submitted.

Our reason for wanting to do this is so that there is a genuine opportunity for development of songwriting for entrants.  Of course, what we hope is that this will result in some really good and useful outcomes for entrants either as part of the competition, or just in general.

This year we have substantially revised the feedback sheets that we provide as part of the assessment process.
